- I am 32 years old and have done 13 years of my life in prison and was addicted to drugs. God has freed me from the obsession to use drugs and also freed my spirit from the self-made prison that I alone could not escape from. Glory be to God!!!
- People often tell me I am older than my years. By the grace of God I am who I am today. From the time I entered kindergarten until I entered middle school, I would come home every night and watch my mother get beaten by her boyfriend. There were countless times he tried to kill my mother and I. I didn’t know it at the time, but God was the one who kept us safe. My mom’s boyfriend went to jail as I was entering middle school. All that I knew was the wrong crowd and that is who I went to for friendship. My 7th grade boyfriend raped me. I wanted to die. I was ready for death. But, God wasn’t ready to take me. As I was holding the knife in my hand, a Christian girl called my phone. Her and her mother came to pick me up. They led me to God. So today, as a 17 year old, God has done great things for me. He has given me strength at my weakest moments, and life when I didn’t think I wanted it. But today I stand, reborn.
- “The Story” has worked beautifully for me personally as last year I read the entire Bible through. This has helped me reflect and study each story more in depth (and realize how much you “miss” when reading straight thru instead of “studying” each passage/story). Thank you for putting this series together. *The absolute best part is the entire family learns the same scripture and I really love reflecting and discussing together!!
- I think The Story has been very relevant & applicable to my life today. I have been influenced by the theme of generational connection in going through the Bible. Each generation must connect & “plug in” to the good news and Christian journeys of parents/families to grow closer to God & develop one’s faith. I’ve appreciated the message each week & thank you for your efforts of making the Bible & its messages appropriate to my life. It has allowed for an honest look at how I can help Him each day in my life and give Him the opportunity for others to grow closer to Him and more importantly for those who do not know Him yet to better understand Christian faith. God is doing wonderful things and is as close to me as any time in my life. Continue to be a potter’s hand for me and others at FMC. Thank you.
- The Lord is looking after every day and I have love to give to make people have His love, too.
- I have been called for many years from our Lord Jesus to write how I became a Christian, through my trials and tribulations, being raised by a schizophrenic, abusive mother to the death of my 1st-born granddaughter, and how the Lord has blessed me and lead me to my strong convictions in the work of our loving Father in heaven.

Going thru “The Story” in the Church Service and Sunday School, helped me to put in chronological order God’s Story in a better way. I always find it comforting to study His word, and this study held me accountable. Thank you for suggesting that all of Fairview do it together. It has blessed me with a better understanding of how much God loves me, even before I was one of His.
- I have enjoyed The Story so much. I have never accomplished reading the Bible from cover to cover although it is a goal for me to finish it someday. The Story let me go through it all in less than a year. I am also a sub in the children’s department and really like that the children are learning the same thing as the adults. The kids have liked the series as well. Today as I finished the last chapter the tears fell as I read no more pain, no suffering. In the last week a father and son in the same family died. A classmate of mine had 2 sons, 1 died 15 years ago the other this week. My father has been in a lot of pain this week. I just can’t imagine no more death or pain. I can’t wait to hear what the children have to say in class tomorrow. It has been very good!
- Having grown up in the church all my life, I found The Story to be like reading a history book similar to Bill O’Reilly’s book “Killing Jesus.” It was easy to read and understand and although it left out a lot of scripture was a good study and read for the new Christian or people who have never been into reading or studying the Bible. It certainly doesn’t and shouldn’t replace the Bible. Hopefully, it will have instilled a desire for people to have an interest in reading and studying the Bible to learn more about who Jesus really is and was.

Reading through “The Story” has helped me better understand in what order the Biblical accounts happened. Though I have read through the Bible several times, the timing of some of the events of the Old Testament was unclear to me. For example, even though Esther is placed early in the Old Testament, it happened much later in the timeline. All of this is so helpful in seeing how God’s perfect timing and will work together to accomplish His desires for His people. God’s upper story is so inspiring, and I feel so honored to be a part of His Story.
