I was just walking around the church today and thinking about whatever for Norm’s Notes today.
The office is in full swing preparing for Bethlehem Marketplace. Sign up starts this Sunday.
Boxes for Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts are available in the foyer. Some people are bringing their filled boxes already. A note on the copy machine says our goal is 750 boxes by November 16.
Sample ballots for the
November 4th election are in the foyer. I like to know what the ballot looks like before I go in to vote. There always seems to be something on the ballot I did not know I could vote on.
There are daycare toys all over the gym floor. The kids probably went back to eat their lunches then it was nap time. They will be back later to pick up the toys.
There is left over pie in the refrigerator. Sandee asked me if that was my lunch today. I said “no, that’s my dessert.” Sometimes I only eat dessert.
We had the Celebration of Life for Barb Ordway yesterday, Cindy Ordway’s mom. One of the stories told was what Barb kept in the safe at her house. Most of us keep our valuables in the safe. In her safe were pictures of the kids and 8mm movies of the family. On top of the safe, in an old milk crate, were her insurance papers, tax papers, and other important documents. But she valued her son’s and daughter’s pictures more than other documents.
I had to turn on my little electric space heater to take the chill off my office this morning.
I am going to the nursing homes this afternoon to see our folks there.
Linda and I are still getting 40th anniversary letters and cards. Thanks.
Since it is not going to rain I will need to go home tonight and work on the leaves in my yard. They are almost too beautiful to rake up.
Yard signs for the Community Gift and Craft Show at Fairview are leaning against the Connection Center for people to take and put out.
My Wednesday night small church is responsible for the kitchen at Fall Festival October 31. Stop by and watch this crew feed you faster than the fastest fast food restaurant.
Those are some of the things I am doing. What are you doing today?
