Norm’s Notes

Last night I watched the movie “Amazing Grace” for the 4th time. I have it on DVD. It is one of the best movies ever. It is the story of William Wilberforce and his fight to put an end to slavery in the British Empire. I watched this time thinking about abortion and Planned Parenthood selling baby parts. Their selling of aborted babies is not any different than selling slaves, maybe even worse.

The movie has many one liners in it. All of these one liners are people speaking to Wilberforce to spur him on in the fight against slavery.
“Are you going to use your voice to praise God or change the world?”
“Wilberforce, you have work to do. Do it, William, do it. Throw their dirty little ships out of the water. Do it for God’s sake.” This was said by John Newton, composer of the song “Amazing Grace”, former slave ship owner turned pastor.
“No more excuses, now finish them off.”
And many more.

Our society is at a William Wilberforce moment when it comes to the tax payer funding of Planned Parenthood and their selling of baby parts. It is time to stop this dirty business. Those who defend this have lost all moral conscience. The same language to defend this was the same to defend slavery – they are not people, we are helping their families, etc.

Most young families have an ultrasound of their unborn baby. It is the first picture most families take and many frame it or put it in their baby book. Planned Parenthood takes an ultra sound so they can position the baby before abortion so as not to destroy usable parts. It is sickening and barbaric!! What has happened to a society that can defend this?

It is time to throw this dirty business out of “our waters.” Let’s do something for God’s sake. No more excuses, it’s time to finish them off. How? Contact your senators. Scroll to the bottom of this link to find phone numbers and email addresses. I emailed them and called them and told them what I thought. I ask you to do the same.

It’s great to be your Caring Pastor. See you Sunday!

A Lighter Note…
Yesterday I wore a three piece suit to church. Many people commented on it. Thank you. The comment I remember best: “You look just like the pastor we used to have” as they pointed to the old sanctuary area.
