Notes from here and there…
Most of you know I am Chairman of the Board at Project Help, the Community Food and Clothing Pantry for Steuben County. In 2015, Project Help spent $55,000 to buy food directly from Aldi, Walmart, and Meijer. $40,000 of that was spent at Meijer because of the extreme generosity of Meijer through their “Simply Give” double match program. They will turn your $10 into $30 and $100 into $300. Simply Give double match is coming Friday and Saturday, June 3 and 4. Those two days Meijer will double match every Simply Give gift card purchased. If you would like to give any amount to Project Help between now and June 2, (Project Help must receive it by June 2) then Project Help will take your gift to Meijer for the double match. The under-resourced of Steuben County say thank you for your generosity.

A big work day project… Our 3-tier wood retaining wall by the children’s wing is falling apart and needs to be replaced this year. It was put in in 1992. If this is the type of project you and your friend(s) would like to volunteer for, let me know. The church will purchase the supplies, you do the work. You can start any time and work any day or night (except Sundays).

Tickets go on sale this Sunday for the Ladies Day Away at Gull Lake in Kalamazoo, MI. Date is Friday, June 10. Cost is $20. More details are in mailboxes this week or at the table in the foyer.
