Norm’s Notes is often stories about people who do not attend Fairview Missionary Church. This one is stories of people who do attend FMC. I have left out their names.
 
 
I have been introduced to five new families in the last two weeks (three families October 1 and two on October 8) who are checking out Fairview because they have attended Bethlehem Marketplace in the past. (Want more information about BMP? Click here.) 
 
Two weeks ago the Connection Center worker pointed out to me a family who came to the Center. They said they were checking out FMC because of Secret Keeper Girls, an event that was here a year ago.
 
A new attender October 8 thought at first the instrumental music was being done by a CD until she realized there are that many instruments on the stage. She loved the music.
 
I met a couple on Sunday that I do not remember ever meeting before. The gentleman came up to me and said, “Hi, Pastor Norm.” I asked how long they’d been attending (because most new attenders don’t know me from Adam). They’ve been attending in the summer for five years. They’ve bought their retirement home on the lake and will be attending FMC full time starting next year when he retires.

We had two new vocalists on the team Sunday. The man on the congregation’s left plays the piano at a church of about 50 people for their 9:00 worship service then comes to FMC for 10:30 worship. Last Sunday was one of only two Sundays he is not playing piano at that church.

I speak in the worship services this coming Sunday. The scripture will be Revelation 3:20, Jesus saying “Here I am, I stand at the door and knock. If any person hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and we will fellowship together.” One of the questions we will look at concerning this scripture – why does Jesus stand at the door? Why doesn’t he sit by the door? Why not camp out on the sidewalk leading up to the door? There are other questions too.
