Changing Lives
About three weeks ago I was asked to do the Monday evening Bible study at Women in Transition in Angola. The first Monday I was free was the one after Easter, April 1. The class is studying the Purpose Driven Life book. Of the six WIT people in the study circle, five of them had attended the Easter musical. Three of them had never been in any church in their life before then. They were all invited by a regular FMC attender who understands the struggles of alcohol and drugs.
Of the six in the study, five of them are in the Women in Transition home by court order. As I gave the invitation at the close of the Easter musical each night, I asked the congregation what part of the musical they identified with the most. For these ladies, they were afraid of the judge and the police officers in the musical. One lady asked if they were real police officers. And, they fully understood the scene about the devil and the chains and the struggle to be free from addiction to drugs and alcohol.
The timing of and the people who attended the Bible study were truly put together by God. It helped me more than the ladies. Each of the ladies has an interesting and compelling story to share. Pray for Women in Transition. God is changing lives there. I am going back for another Bible study sometime soon.

Easter report:
Attendance for the four presentations of the Easter musical was 2500. It seemed the majority of the crowd each service were not FMC regular attenders.200 people indicated at the end of the services that they prayed the salvation prayer.
