A well used Bible

Last week, on Tuesday, Glenn and I conducted the funeral for Martha Prouse. She and her husband Kenny were a part of my small group. She had battled cancer for about a year. The Bible she and Kenny read from together for most of their married life was the most used and tattered Bible I have ever seen. The first page of this Bible was Genesis 13. The cover was totally missing. The pages containing Genesis 5 and 6 were folded and stuffed in Deuteronomy. Genesis 3 and 4 was stuffed in Numbers. James chapter 1 was actually in Ephesians and the back cover was stuffed in Psalms. The edges were battered and dogged. It was a well used Bible for a saint of God.

Martha was the first of nine siblings to enter into Heaven. That family is experiencing many thing for the first time. Please pray for them. Martha was 69 years old. Her mother was at the funeral.
