Pastor Joel’s message Sunday challenged us to do daily devotions. There is a link on FMC’s website that may help you get started or restarted. Also consider some of the nice pamphlets in the literature rack by the mailboxes. There are many topics that will challenge you to be a better disciple.

FMC / Bethel College basketball game day: all people who attend FMC can get in free to the Bethel College basketball game on Saturday, January 21. The women’s game starts at 1:00 pm, men’s game starts at 3:00. Just tell the ticket booth you are from Fairview and they will wave you right on through. No need to sign up, just show up with your car full and get in free. There are almost limitless shopping and eating places within 2-3 miles of Bethel to enjoy before or after the game (or both!).

“All in” is the theme of our “Everyone in a Small Group / Small Church” campaign running February 15 through Easter. But first I need people, singles and couples, who would like to lead a group that we can put people into. If you want to know more about leading a small group, just drop me a note or email. We will have a meeting of new leaders soon.

Linda and I are looking forward to the Fairview Family Florida Picnic on Saturday, February 11, at 12 noon at Jim and Abby Wagler’s house just outside Sarasota, Florida. To sign up, send me an email. Cost is $7.50 per person, payable at the picnic. Bring lawn chairs if you have them.

God’s Timing: I got a personal Facebook message a few days ago from a person who does not attend Fairview but lives in the area. She downloads the audio message each week from our website to her phone. She had gotten a new car and the car audio communicates with her phone wirelessly. She was traveling down the road when her radio changed. She thought it had just randomly changed to another station but after listening for a few minutes she thought, ‘that sounds like Pastor Norm’. She realized it was me speaking. The message her new car and new phone “randomly” chose was really chosen by God. It was one from last fall where there was the list of things that are not going to be in heaven. It was exactly what she needed to hear at that time. She had lost her husband about two years ago to cancer. She is in her 50’s. Only God!
