Yesterday, Glenn and I had the celebration of life for Fred Nelson.
Every Monday Fred wrote a verse in his daytimer that he committed to memory that week. He memorized 52 verses each year. I first met Fred when I was youth pastor in Mishawaka 43 years ago. About 10 years ago he retired and moved to Angola and began attending FMC.

The cold and snow were bad, ouch, but not as bad as the blizzard of ’78. We used a bulldozer to clear the parking lot and sidewalks that year.

The weather report for last Sunday was “blizzard coming at noon.” My heart was moved by those FMC attenders who usually attend second service who came to first service instead because they just needed to be at FMC on Sunday and wanted to get home before the storm. God bless you dedicated folks.
