Norm’s Notes                                                                                 October 27, 2016

This Sunday is a historic Sunday for Fairview Missionary Church – Mortgage Burning Ceremony in both services. The 10:31 service will be joining us in the sanctuary. I will be sharing stories of God’s faithfulness over the years. Since Transition Sunday, God has been raising up a new, younger group of leaders who didn’t attend FMC before. They need to hear these stories. Also, a vital piece of FMC history will be presented to the church. We have a part of the original 1927 first Fairview Church to give to the congregation.

I am encouraged by the large number of people who have signed up for Bethlehem Marketplace already. Sign-up continues this week. Pick up literature to give to your friends or use the Evite link on our website’s homepage.

You can still sign up to help with Fall Fest, Monday, October 31.

I like the sample ballots for each voting precinct in our area that are available at the table in the foyer. There are often questions on the state and local level that I didn’t know were on the ballot. Be in prayer for this election.

Don’t forget your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Some of us would rather let the kids fill the boxes and just give money to make that possible. If that is you, just drop your special donation marked “shoeboxes” in the offering.

Thank you to everyone who brought goodies into the church office for staff appreciation month.

Some questions I ask….
What will the commercials on TV be after the election? The political commercials have run so long I have forgotten what normal commercials look like.
What “breaking news” will people post on Facebook after the election?
What if the Cubs win the World Series? That will cause a celebration in Chicago like no other.
