Larry’s Story – Part 2

Please read last week’s Norm’s Notes to get Chapter 1.

Last Friday I was in the Wal-mart parking lot next to Larry’s RV when I called Bill’s Towing to come and take the RV to Lonsbury’s Garage. Bill himself came. I don’t think I’ve ever met him, but he knew who I was. He said to me, “I was at your Bethlehem event a few years ago and I must say I was very impressed.” Then he said, “My grandmother used to attend your church.” I asked, “Who is your grandmother?” Wava Mettert, and he thanked me for all Fairview did for his grandmother. Long time attenders will remember Wava. She and two other ladies used to walk from Elliot Manor (when it was a retirement home) down to the FMC on Williams Street. She was a saint. I think she has been gone 20-25 years. To me that whole conversation with Bill was an “only God” moment. I would never have met Wava’s grandson without Larry coming across my path.
Jake has helped Larry with laundry and some food this week. Lonsbury’s Garage got his RV running, and an FMC family is having Larry over for Thanksgiving dinner. This family has a 14 year old and 11 year old. This will be a Thanksgiving they will remember for the rest of their lives. As far as we know, Larry plans to leave town Friday morning and head south to warmer weather.

Two years ago today is when we started the battle against the strip club. Keep praying please.

Linda and I will be in South Bend tomorrow for two Thanksgiving meals.
