Norm’s Notes December 11, 2015
My head is not doing well at the moment. On Tuesday morning, about 9:00 a.m. while cleaning up BMP, I tripped over an extension cord and hit my head real hard on the floor. I have a concussion. I hit the floor so hard that the plastic lenses in my eye glasses have the impression of my eyebrow on them on the left side but my glasses did not break. I have a constant headache and my prescription medicine only dulls it. At this time, Friday morning, even with my prescription medicine I can only be on the computer about three minutes before my headache worsens. I can watch TV about one minute and read only one page in a book or one article in the newspaper before it worsens. Normal sounds are louder to me and light is hard on my eyes. All I want to do is sleep in a dark room and I do lots of that.
The trip to Urgent Care and Cameron and the CT scan and x-rays all show there is nothing broken or cracked. Just my brain is bruised and it takes a long time for it to heal. The black and blue bruised areas on my face have grown from Tuesday to Thursday but I think they have stopped growing now. My mom would say “I am a sight for sore eyes” and I look like I have been “dragged through a knot hole.”
The doctors tell me this could take a long time to completely heal, but it will heal. They say I can not come back to work until I have 24 hours of no headache with no pain meds. At this moment, that seems a long way off. When you see me, please don’t ask how I’m doing. Simply say, good to see you. I will not be in church Sunday morning. I hope to make it to my Wednesday Small Church Christmas party on Wednesday night, December 16. Thanks for your prayers.

The City of Angola won the lawsuit with Showgirls and the club will not be opening at that spot in Angola. One of our prayers through all of this has been that God would give confusion to the legal team representing the club and that He would give wisdom to the City legal team. The newspaper reported that the Showgirl legal team made a tactical error that cost them the case. In my mind and heart, I believe that tactical error was caused by God confusing the Showgirls legal team – our prayers were answered. Now we need to pray for the salvation of the owners of Showgirls. The ultimate goal here is not just keeping Showgirls out of Angola, it is to get the owners into heaven and that is possible only when they meet Christ as their personal Savior.
