Random Notes…
Please allow me one more letter about Bethlehem Marketplace
Each one who comes to pay their taxes is given coins to pay and bargain with. We ask that coins not used in the Marketplace be left at the manger scene or at the exit. One visitor accidentally took a coin home and sent it back with a letter. You can find a link to the letter on the BMP page of our website.

Most of the people stories in Norm’s Notes are about people who do not attend FMC yet. The following story is about an FMC attender who is in my Wednesday night Small Church. She and the whole Wednesday night group know I am telling on her. As soon as she confessed in class I said this story is so good it just has to be shared with the whole world.
The best way to introduce this is to ask a question – what do you do to make people think you are spiritual when really you are not? We have all done many things to fool people into thinking we are better than we really are. We put on smiles when we are hurting and tell people we are ok when we are not. This story I am telling you about took place at her former church. She took the Bible out of her Bible case and put a novel where her Bible used to be. Then she took the case (with the novel in it) to church. She read her novel during church. People thought she was super spiritual with her nice Bible case but she was not reading the Bible, she was reading her novel. She was not looking up the scripture the pastor was talking about, she was reading the novel in her Bible case. I had her tell the story twice to make sure I heard it right as she told it. It was hilarious.
The modern day version of this is having your cell phone out in church and everyone thinks you are reading from your Bible app when you are actually reading a novel or answering email, or checking the weather.

Thank you for all your suggestions for devotionals. Wow. The congregation is walking with God daily and using many different resources to help in that walk.
This link will take you to a page on our website with many devotionals on it.

The church office uses a pictorial directory app to help us identify people. We would like an updated photo of your family for this purpose. You may drop one off at the Connection Center (it will be returned to you) or email it to Michelle.

On a personal note… The basketball team my grandson, Zane, plays on won the South Bend city championship Wednesday night. He is a 7th grader but plays on the 8th grade team. They were down by 10 points at half time to a team that was undefeated the whole season. Zane’s team went on a 20 to 6 third quarter run and put it away at the free throw line in the 4th quarter. The Jefferson bulldogs are the best in South Bend. Congratulations Zane! I think this kid has a future in basketball. The day is coming when this proud grandpa will keep you informed of every victory.
See you Sunday!
