More People Coming
The first few weeks in January each year there are more people wanting to start attending church or looking for a different church to attend than at any other time of year. Why? A new year, new beginning. It will happen in every church, everywhere. Therefore, this time of the year is a good time to invite people to church. They are expecting us to invite them.
Be sure to smile and welcome those who sit around you on Sunday. Your smile, handshake, “hi”, could be the small thing that helps someone take their next step toward Jesus and change their life and their eternity.Click here for newcomer’s information on our website that you can send to the friends and neighbors you invite.
When you bring your friends and neighbors, or meet someone who is at FMC for the first time, be sure to take them to the Guest Reception area for a special gift for them.

This Sunday is cardboard testimonies of changed lives. It is a “never forget” service. I have said many times we never know who is sitting around us on Sunday and what they are dealing with. This service will help us understand others and their struggles a little better. I am scheduled to speak but I am not sure I will speak after hearing about the changed lives of cardboard testimonies. Invite the neighborhood.
I like the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. This is a link to their pictorial review of 2014.
For anyone who has seen the movie “Unbroken,” you can get the rest of the story from the Billy Graham website.
This time of the year many people buy a new or a different car. If you do not need the trade in value of your present car, and it still has useable miles on it, consider donating it to the church. We always have FMC people who are without a car and are looking for transportation. Get more information about FMC’s CARS Ministry here.
Last week I had the privilege of doing a home dedication for an FMC family moving into a larger home. I, mom, dad, and all five kids – oldest one 11 years old – sat at the table and I read scripture and the dedication part and they all responded. It was a very special time for me and was something the kids will always remember.
