Norm’s Notes
Welcome to the “new” Norm’s Notes. It will come out on and off, but not every week – mostly on Fridays. It will cover only those areas of ministry at Fairview that I am directly responsible for. Linda and I are back from Florida, rested and ready to go. While in Florida, we attended the 4-day retreat for pastors of large Missionary Churches. One of the topics of discussion was the transition of pastors. We are 3-4 years ahead of several in the group. Most of the pastors are seriously working on their transitions. That will be the last time we will be with that group in that setting. The Fairview Family Florida picnic was lots of fun. Several people were meeting each other for the first time, even though they worship at the same church in Angola. A huge thank you to the Wagler family, former FMC attenders, for hosting it. We need to do this every year. Tomorrow Linda and I will go to South Bend to watch two grandkids play basketball. Anna plays at 8:30 a.m. and Zane plays at 5 p.m. We will also stop in and see daughter-in-law Brooke’s new Superkid Capes shop. She has moved the shop out of their house and opened a store with a production crew to take it to the next level. Superkid Capes ships all over the world from South Bend, Indiana. This is very good. It is not just Christian fiction but some very scholarly works too. Sign up for their email.
A very good Facebook grief-healing site is Grief Watch. Like it and then you will receive a monthly newsletter.
The small booklet in the FMC literature rack called “Tear Soup” has helped many.
