Norm’s Notes

June 5, 2015

Here is a partial list of my events this week:

Monday – went to Chicago on a “Trips with Pastor Norm”. Did you know that when you look at the city from the John Hancock building observation deck, high above everything, the buildings in the city look like little Lego buildings that you could reach out and knock over. Several buildings have swimming pools and grass on the roof. On the train trip home Bill Barge and I sat with a 30ish young man, a contractor, who told us about all the money he was making by flipping houses on the south side. As the conversation went on for 30 minutes, I encouraged him to use his wealth to build a church or help out a mission, and to get into a church. He was raised Catholic. Pray for him.

Tuesday – We are all touched by the #CharlotteStrong story. There are many chapters still to be written with this. Praying.

Wednesday – I spent most of Wednesday, it seems like, trying to figure out small churches/small groups in our church management program. I am learning. I want to learn to do most of this myself and not always have to rely on the busy secretaries for everything.

Thursday – Late evening I stopped by Project Help. I noticed some new boxes marked “Christmas”. Someone is always thinking about Christmas at Project Help.

Friday – I ate lunch with the church staff and our #1 Friday helper in the office, Cherry Eddingfield.

SaturdayTomorrow I think I am eating breakfast at the farmer’s market in Angola. It’s the annual “Farmers Share” breakfast. The cost is only 50 cents. 8:00 a.m.

Sunday – When you get your coffee and donuts, be sure to add a touch of flavor to your coffee. It will only be available while supplies last! In the afternoon I am going to graduation open houses. That is always fun.

See you Sunday!

My Prayer
Here is one of my prayers and pursuits. I am asking God to lead me to two or three adult teachers who have had experience teaching adults in the past. These teachers are in the
30-40 age range and are willing team-teach with others on a 3 weeks on / 6 weeks off schedule. This is for a Sunday 10:30 class/Small Church starting in September.

If you know of someone who fills the need, send me their name. If it is you that can answer this prayer, after prayer, contact me.
