“Everyone you meet today is fighting a battle. Love and understanding will help them fight the battle for today. Smile.” That was the first line of the instruction sheet given to volunteers who helped with the Project Help Back to School distribution at FMC this week. A huge ‘thank you!’ to everyone who helped make it possible.
I went to Parkview Hospital to have prayer before surgery with a Fairview attender. The doctor doing the surgery did not see me slip into the room while he was talking to his patient. The patient said to the doctor, ‘I pray the hands of Jesus will guide you during surgery.’ Shortly after that the doctor held the patient’s hand and led in a beautiful prayer for himself and the patient. Then I shook the doctor’s hand and told him that prayer was nearly as important to the patient as the surgery. He looked at me and said, ‘I was in your church Sunday.’ He lives in Fort Wayne and on one of the lakes. Our number one layman was in the room and he looked at her and said, ‘You are the lady who wants to be Number One.’ God is good and He has His people everywhere.
According to an analysis of phone calls made to service centers, Ohio is the most foul mouth state in the Union. This week we will talk about the misuse of God’s name as we continue the series “Say it Again Pastor.”
