Homecoming and 40th Anniversary Celebration
Linda and I have been preparing for the Homecoming and 40th Anniversary Celebration coming on October 12. My office is full of history boxes and banners. We will look back at all the people God has brought to Fairview Missionary Church to mold and shape FMC into what it is today. We admit that there is a full range of emotions – exciting, humbling, overwhelming, and sometimes I just cry at how incredibly blessed we have been to be in ministry here for 40 years.
Linda and I (and the church office) need your help. God has brought a lot of people to FMC over the years and then moved them on to their next step in life. We want to contact those who have moved away, outside of Steuben County. That task has proven to be bigger than we anticipated so we ask of you two things:
1. Could you help us invite others electronically – email them, Facebook them, text them, call them on the phone. Just tell them Pastor Norm and Linda asked you to contact them about the Celebration.
2. If you know someone who should get a more formal invitation in the mail, please give their name and address to the church office. Many invitations have been sent out but it is possible we have missed some or couldn’t send one because the address we have on file isn’t current.
Thank you for your help.

This Sunday’s message is “Looking Unto the Fields” – the ‘corn sermon’. It was first done in 1985 in the old, old, church and repeated about every five years or so.

An old fashioned song I asked for us to sing this week is “Bringing in the Sheaves”. Watch/listen to it here.
