First, Rebecca and our family would like thank all of your with your outpouring support, love and prayers as we have been going through all of our medical issues these past few months. Tomorrow we head back down to IU. I have an exploratory surgery scheduled for Weds morning around 9 AM. They have a pretty good idea where to look this time around, we just pray that they find whatever it is that has been causing such issues. Please pray for our travels and the that Lord guides my doctor's hands. Also, tomorrow is our oldest daughter Loralei's 10th birthday. She and her sister will be spending the few days with their grandma as the wife and I take the two boys with us. Thank you again for all your overflowing love, and prayers. We truly feel blessed! God Bless you all!

Update on my Mom: Thank You for your prayers. I have spent time traveling back and forth visiting with my sisters who live in Texas and their spouses as they have traveled home to my parents on the Lakeshore of Michigan this holiday season to be near our mother, her name is Phyllis. My Mom has had a hand in fostering or raising over 33 children during her lifetime. She is the epitome of what a mother should be. I have been blessed to have her in my life since the age of 3 as a babysitter.

She was once my step-mother. I had to make the choice when I got out of the military to continue a relationship with her. Upon the death of my Grandfather last January she willingly told him a sweet goodbye unbeknownst to others in the room on my birthday as she called to sing me happy birthday. My Mom is my anchor and my stronghold in this life. I talk to her everyday. Each of us girls, there are five of us now. She has adopted 12 children. In fact, she has raised three different families.

She raised a family with my father. She raised her son along with a step-son. Then when her home was empty for a couple of years, she missed children and started fostering children, and ended up adopting those children.

Our family found out two days before Christmas that she in fact has a large mass in her Large Intestine that is cancerous. My father has dementia and she is a champion for him. My family has been surrounding her with love and adoration this holiday season, because we are all in fear that her time has come, as she is being called to a place that we cannot see her anymore. She is charismatic and adoring us with her gracious love as always a mother does. We are blessed, as only God can do through his mercy and grace.

UPDATE ON OUR NIECE. I have always been a firm believer that God still performs miracles every day. Our niece is just one big miracle. When I placed the prayer request last Thursday it was looking very grim for Kristin. However, TODAY, I am happy to report that she has done a 180 degree turn around. She will be most likely released from the hospital today or tomorrow. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS. Now that she is out of the woods for this specific need, I would like to ask for prayer for another miracle. Kristin has multiple genetic auto-immune issues that make her day to day "living" very difficult. Some of the heavy hitters are: dysautonomia, kidney disease, Ehlers-Danlos Sundrome, hyperadrenergic POTS, and fibromyalgia. Two years ago I had never even heard of most of these things, now I know more that I care to. The fact is that she needs a miracle. She needs to find a doctor(s) who can treat her symptoms so that she can resume a more normal life. In addition to all her medical issues, her and her husband, Josh, live in an area of Fort Wayne, that the city has purchased the homes and will be tearing them down due to constant flooding. They are not able to purchase a home, because of astronomical medial bills, they have no credit, and finding a rental is proving to be difficult. So I am asking for continued prayer for this situation as well.

My daughter is in need of prayer. On Monday she will go to court to attempt to regain custody of her oldest daughter. She has struggled with the father of her oldest daughter in establishing and having a relationship with her daughter. My wife has aided her in this cause. My other granddaughters have not been able to see their sister. My wife and I were out finishing up some shopping tonight at Meijer's and our next to the youngest granddaughter saw her older sister. She was excited and her older sister was told to turn away and not speak to her. They were both crying. Children should never be placed in the middle of adult problems.

We are asking for guidance for the judge to be understanding of our daughter's cause, because she is a beautiful mother and deserves to have a relationship with her child. She does not deserve for her child to be put in the middle of adult problems and to be made to feel less than what she truly is. We are asking that the father would be confusing with his words and be found caught up in the lies that he attempts to tell his child in front of the judge, as he tells about our daughter to be caught in the midst of trouble so that our daughter's relationship may be restored and healing can begin.

My husband, Ken, welcomes prayers. He's in the St. Joe Hospital with serious lung issues. For those of you who know him, it's a similar situation to the October 2011 battle. Thank you church family, we love God and are thankful for Fairview!
